Hello everyone! Squaky here, your favourite globe-trotting kingfisher, reporting, well, a little delayed, (I was too busy relaxing!) from my incredible stay at the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, Curio Collection by Hilton! Oh my feathers, what an adventure!

You all know I love exploring new places, and Las Vegas has always been on my list. But staying at the Virgin Hotel, took things to a whole new level of amazing! Read on to find out why.

From the moment I arrived, I felt like royalty

Let me tell you, the staff were the friendliest bunch of humans a little birdy could ask for! Nothing was too much trouble, and the 24-hour service meant I could get a drink (a very small, imaginary one, of course!) or a snack whenever the travel beak struck.

My taste buds were singing at Lucia the Mexican restaurant in the hotel with all the genuine flavours, which is NOT what you get in the UK. Those steak tacos? Absolutely divine! I could have eaten them all day long.

There’s also a NOBU! Excellent options to dine available, just book in advance as much as possible as some places get very busy. If you want a slice of pie you can get it at Pizza Forte in the evenings.

Kassi Beach Club - sunshine bliss!

The best place to soak up some Vegas sunshine was at the Kassi Beach Club. Wow! What a vibe! The music was fantastic, the atmosphere was buzzing, and the drinks were incredibly refreshing – as a sober birdy I still got so many cool options to enjoy and keep cool.

The whole setting was just brilliant – imagine sparkling pools, cool tunes, and happy people all around. It was the perfect place to chill out and feel the energy of Vegas without being overwhelmed. I spent a good chunk of time lounging by the pool, feeling like the luckiest kingfisher in Nevada.

I need to mention Funny Library, a coffee place in the hotel being such an excellent option for my caffeine fix and treats throughout the day – I do have a sugar addiction to manage after all!

I can't go to Vegas without a little flutter in the casinos, right?

Well, your brave Squaky decided to try his luck. Let’s just say my talents lie more in spotting fish than predicting roulette wheels. Fifty dollars vanished faster than a free buffet! Lesson learned: gambling is fun to watch, but maybe not my forte. I decided to stick to more relaxing pursuits after that.

The Spa was the ultimate pampering experience was definitely my massage. Oh. My. Goodness. It was pure bliss! I felt like a true king after that. And the steam room? The best I’ve ever experienced!

Seriously, it was so wonderfully steamy and relaxing. The plush robe they gave me was incredibly cozy, and I even took a little dip in the indoor pool – pure heaven! I even got into a free yoga class at the weekend and loved the way it started my day.

What else made the Virgin Hotel so special?

Well, there’s always fantastic live music at night in the various hotel venues – check the events calendar for what’s on. I caught many shows, including excellent live music in the legendary Shag Room – it was a seriously cool and unique place to unwind.

And let’s not forget the location! The Virgin Hotel is situated slightly off the main Las Vegas Strip, meaning the hotel was a welcome escape from the Vegas hustle and bustle. But don’t worry, if you want to dive headfirst into the bright lights and excitement of the Strip, it’s just a super quick ride away. Best of both worlds, if you ask me!

Overall, my stay at the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas was an unforgettable adventure. The friendly staff, the fantastic food, the incredible amenities, and the perfect location made it an absolute dream – even a little kingfisher felt like royalty here!
